Sharing and receiving information is, of course, the point of social networking. One person shares information, and then others can see and react to it and vice versa. The information someone could post on a social networking site could be personal information about themselves or others, pictures, videos, opinions, comments, and countless other items. Your child or student may really benefit from and enjoy sharing information with others so that they can learn more about him or her and keeping up to date on what friends and relatives are up to! Sharing too much or the wrong kind of information can be dangerous though.
The intent of this section of our website is to give you information about how and what type of information is safe to share and what is not safe to share. We also have some lesson plans and ideas for parents to help your child or student share information safely while participating in social networking sites.
